Brittany and Caleb’s Tsunami Wedding!

So Fri, March 11, 2001 didn’t start out so well for Japan, as they were devasted by a huge earthquake. As we recieved a phone call about 4:30am Friday morning, warning us that a Tsunami was nearing us I thought it wasn’t real. Luckily for Brittany and Kaleb it turned out to be a beautiful day in Ferndale, CA. They always say rain is good luck on your wedding day? Well I think a Tsunami warning is one too!

Brittany looked absolutely amazing and Kalib looked handsome! A perfect pair!

Thank you Brittany and Kalib for letting me a part of such a special day!

Ferndale Senior Matt Adams

I was the lucky photographer that got to photograph Ferndale senior Matt Adams! Matt is the graduating class of 2011! We had a good time out at Centerville beach, even though it was slightly cold and a lil misty outside! But Matt, as well as his father, were troopers for the photoshoot! Here are a few shots that were my fav from the shoot! I wish nothing but the best for Matt in the years to come! Good luck! and Congrats!

Probably my favorite!

Epic Fondant Frosting Failure

So, anyone who knows me, knows I love to bake cupcakes or cakes, basically anything. Well I’ve always wanted to do a cake with fondant frosting! You know, the frosting on cakes where it’s completely smooth and looks flawless!? Well first I went to Michaels because I had seen items from “Cake Boss”, the tv show, in there and thought I could buy some fondant there. Well, for $19.99 I didn’t really want to make a cake with it that bad! So my good friend Delana gave me the grand idea of making ti myself, because not every bakery comes to Michaels for fondant from the “Cake Boss”. Made total sense! Plus, I had heard that real fondant frosting wasn’t very tasty, unless you made it yourself and put your own flavor to it. So, yesterday it was my mission to get the ingredients to make this frosting! I googled how to make it, roll it, use it, flavor it.. you name it, I did! I was pretty confident when I started making it, but when i was “done” it looked like a pile of mush and liquidy. BUT Google had said to put it in the fridge overnight.

This morning I wake up, not feeling too sparky due to a nasty cough and head cold, but I was determined to see if my fondant had really worked out! So I pull it out of the fridge and it looks halfway descent. Well, I start rolling it out and added some food coloring to it to make it look “cool”, and I really thought it was going to work out. “Thought” was the key word there. Once I had rolled out the fondant i tried lifting it up to put on the cake…… No way jose. All it did was stick and crack… No bueno! I tried re-rolling it and doing it again… So I gave up and put the cracked pieces on the cake and now I’m going for that creative look! hahahahaha! I took a few photos of my “creative” cake to share with you! Let’s just say I will need to re-attempt fondant frosting!

And to top it all off, besides being sick, I now have to clean up a mess before anyone gets home!

Maybe Marthe Stewart will have some suggestions for me!

Debra and her animals

When I think of some one who loves animals, my friend Debra is the first to pop into my brain! I had a blasty blast photographing Debra and some of her animals 🙂

Brittanys time to Shine!

Well, it’s about time I stop making Brittany wait to see some of her pictures! I had a blast with Brittany last week! We went all over the place and I got to photograph her in places I’ve never shot at before! It was awesome! I took her younger sisters senior pictures but it was Brittanys turn to be in front of the camera! She is absolutely stunning and was such a great model to work with! 🙂 Here’s a few pics from the shoot! 🙂

North Carolina Freemans!!

It’s a first for me, that is, visiting North Carolina! My father’s side of the family is mainly in Ashville and this August I was able to fly back there for a visit. Unfortunetly the reason for going was for my grandmothers surgery! Thank goodness she’s okay post op! I also got to hang out with a few of my cousins, and of course I brought my camera with me to take some pics. My cousins Love and Angele got to escape there everyday routine to let me take there pictures! We had such a blast and I am so excited for them to see the pictures! They’ve never had professional pictures taken of them so hopefully these are up to there standards! Here’s a few I fell in love with

Love is absolutely stunning in this pic! Prob my fav of her!

Thanks again, Love and Angele! Hopefully you guys can make it out to California one of these days! 🙂 Then we will have to do some more pics in California! Love you guys!
